Redbull sponsored event Winter Jam 2009 building a snowboarding ramp on the Lower East Side for an event this weekend February 5-7.
Thursday February 5 is the professional snowboarding competition "Big Air in the Big Apple" while Saturday the 7th promises fun for everyone including food, music, jumps and snowmen. Best part about the whole event: It's free!!! (Second Best Thing: It takes place in a public park!)
WOW! Expect pro snowboarders, an ice climbing wall and snow flume for sledding.
This reminds me of Icer Air in SF where they import snow on a very steep hill and let snowboarders have their way. HURRAH for NYC following suit.
