Grizzly Bear

Grizzly Bear played a small acoustic set Saturday night (Valentine's Day) as part of the New Yorker Speak Easy series at Powerhouse Books in DUMBO. Music critic Sashe Frere Jones was on hand to introduce the band and I took full opportunity to meet him after the show - he was very pleasant.

Jefferey Eugenides read a short story from a recent collection he edited about love and actor Gabriel Byrne recounted his own story of a missed connection. Brilliant evening of literature, movies and music.

Upcoming February Music

February 6 and 7: Beirut at Brooklyn Academy of Music. Also a treat that sold out.

February 13 and 14: The incredible Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings plays in hometown NYC at the Nokia Theater in Times Square. Sexy grooves just in time for Valentines Day.

February 14: Grizzly Bear and a slew of NY intellectuals and music afficionados pack the new Galapagos Art Space in DUMBO, Brooklyn for the New Yorker Speakeasy "Love is Strange" series.  My favorite music critic Sasha Frere Jones will be there. The evening is hosted by the New Yorker's fiction editor Deborah Treisman.
